Health & Safety

A casual attitude to Health and Safety has no place in the environments and industries we work in, therefore Coatech has implemented a systematic approach to health and safety management so that our workforce, clients and others affected by our operations are protected from harm.

Our commitment to making health and safety a core value in all aspects of our operations is outlined below:

Staff Training and Development

We are registered with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and work with them to continually build on the strengths of our workforce through an annual training plan

All our site team have training in:

  • First aid
  • Manual handling
  • Handling COSHH substances
  • Asbestos awareness
  • Fire Safety Principles
  • Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Environmental Management

In addition our managers and supervisors overseeing our projects have various additional qualifications such as:
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme qualified)
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme qualified)
  • Managing Safety IOSH
  • NEBOSH Environmental Management

We ensure that 100% of our site staff are CSCS carded so that they can work on a wide range of sites. For this we have achieved a Platinum Award for our ‘Commitment to the CSCS’ Scheme.

Comprehensive Method Statements are provided and we have a thorough system of Risk, COSHH and PPE Assessments.

We ensure that all site staff undertake annual health screening to ensure that their health and wellbeing is being adequately protected at work. Furthermore, all our site staff have undertaken ‘Face-Fit’ testing to ensure that they have the correct respiratory protection suited to their individual needs

We work closely with an independent Health and Safety Consultant to ensure we are always implementing current best practice and continually enhancing our Health and Safety systems.

We work to a range of internal Policies, Procedures and ‘Safe Systems of Work’ designed to promote Heath and Safety as an integral part of our operations. We also have a thorough accident investigation process.
