Mortuary Floor

Our recent project installing a new anti-microbial, hygienic resin floor at a local hospital is now complete.

The vinyl floors in the hospital’s mortuary were not fit for purpose. After removing the existing surface using a ride-on tile remover we diamond ground the surface to remove any latex and mechanically prepare the concrete underneath.

We primed the floor with Flowcrete’s Flowfresh Primer and installed coving to all perimeter walls; a total of 82 linear meters. We then installed Flowcrete’s Flowfresh SR in a matt green colour to an area of 180m² at a 6mm thickness.

The floor was broadcast with a pigmented green quartz to give it a slip-resistant finish and a final sealer coat was applied.

The team worked hard to complete the works to a tight programme as it was imperative that the hospital’s shutdown period was as minimal as possible.

The new surface is hygienic, heavy-duty, slip resistant and easy to clean making it ideal for healthcare environments such as this.
