Why rubber crumb/ mulch is used over bark
- Rubber crumb/ mulch longevity and design capabilities are far superior
- Rubber crumb provides a far safer impact absorbing surface
- Rubber mulch/Rubber crumb utilises recycled truck tyres, so better for the environment
- Bark playgrounds need constant maintenance of raking/ topping up the level
- Bark playgrounds are used by animals therefore can be contaminated easily
Obviously, the rubber crumb/ mulch is going to be more expensive to install initially but then when you look into the lifecycle costs with the monthly maintenance of barked areas it makes rubber surfaces far more favourable.
